Kantan

Simple programming language for kids, with web interface.

The repo has 3 parts

frontend/ - the actual Web UI.
backend/ - BE API that runs the kantan code.
core/ - actual core engine where the kantan interpretor using rust lives. See core/README.md for more details.

Frontend

Its a React + Vite.

cd frontend
npm install
npm run dev

Backend

A simple go HTTP service that recieves the code via http layer and writes it a temp file and runs inside a ephemeral docker container safely. container has no network, only read-only permission across levels, dropped capabilities, memory/CPU/pid limits, output size and execution timeouts).

cd backend
make init
make build-local

run from backend/

docker build -t kantan-code-sandbox -f ./kantan-dockerfile ..
